Founded in 1997 in the basement of the Blackcomb Ski Club cabin by Tom Edstrand and Mike Perreten to provide a better way to get around the local campus. Today Landyachtz is perhaps the most renowned longboard brand in the game.
Landyachtz has always focused on quality and product innovation. Designing the best boards possible and developing the technology to do so has always been the main priority. With co-founder Tom Edstrand being 2005 world champion, racing heavily influenced the early board designs and provided a great way for Landyachtz to test new technologies. Landyachtz originated the drop foot platform, a design that remained synonymous with downhill for many years.
According to Landyachtz the Dinghy is not only the best cruiser board they have ever made, but the best cruiser ever made, period. This is what Landyachtz says:
“The dinghy is meant to be accessible so we pushed the shape to include a more practical kicktail, wider foot platform and wheel wells that allow for larger soft wheels. The modern Dinghy is an evolution of years of skating and trial and error, we’re definitely stoked on where it’s at now.”
This 28,5″ comes with 63mm Fatty wheels (78A) and Bear trucks (Polar Bear 105), designed with an ergonomic grip tail. The board is made from 7 ply Canadian Maple.
